I'll dominate 'serious fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the pair confronted each other to publicize next month's bout.

Former two time unified title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to break his face and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's largest financial successes, regularly earning substantial paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually proceeding.
